Polarwave did not want to create just another ratchet block. The goal was to develop a mechanism that sailors can trust completely—lightweight, exceptionally smooth, reliable under load and built for long-term performance.
The result is a ratchet block weighing only 36 grams, with a highly responsive automatic mechanism and zirconia ceramic bearings for extremely smooth rotation and excellent durability.
A total of nine different manufacturing processes are used to produce each block. Every detail has been carefully developed, including the optimized sheave profile, which provides excellent grip on the sheet while maintaining smooth and controlled running.
